Vegan apple cake

Ingredients

  • 175 g flour
  • 80 g sugar
  • 120 g water
  • 50 g oil
  • 12 g baking powder (or 70 g sourdough starter)
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 10 g vanilla powder optional

Instructions

  1. To a bowl, add all ingredients (except for the apples), and mix until homogenous. (Do not overmix).
  2. Add sliced apples and gently fold into batter.
  3. Transfer batter to a prepared cake pan (lined with parchment paper). Spread batter evenly.
  4. Top cake with sliced apple.
  5. Bake in preheated oven at 180 °C for 55 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of cake comes out clean).
